DOWNHILL WORLD CUP 2022
#2 FORT WILLIAM
Second Downhill World Cup 2022 in Fort William, Scotland - the complete opposite of the first race in Lourdes, France. Extremely long, with almost 5 min riding time, windy, wet, muddy and again Amaury Pierron wins spectacularly with just under half a second ahead of his teammate Thibaut Daprela (Team Commencal/Muc-Off).
In the women's race, Lourdes winner Camille Balanche (Dorval AM Commencal) and World Champion Myriam Nicole (Commencal/Muc-Off) again took podiums with 2nd and 3rd place.
Many top riders coped poorly with the extremely slippery surface, wet stones and roots. Slippery front wheels, the necessary cornering grip and also puncture protection were the big challenge - not so for the Schwalbe athletes, who found secure grip and the necessary puncture protection with Magic Mary in these extreme conditions to bring their power to the track. Congratulations to all team riders!
