TRIATHLON WM IN ST-GEORGE:
DOUBLE BRONZE AND A DEBUTANT TAKES OFF
SCHWALBE ATHLETES CONQUER THE PODIUM AT THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS
New venue with brutal course: The triathlon world championships, held for the first time in the Utah desert, went down to the wire. "It was incredibly tough, the bike was already brutal. Then in the marathon it was dying in installments," Anne Haug told HR. In the end, the Schwalbe athletes won bronze medals in both the men's and women's races. Haug, who had entered the race as defending champion with her World Championship title from Hawaii 2019, still ended up in third place with the best marathon time in temperatures of over 30 degrees. Before the World Championships, she had already guessed that the mountainous bike and run course would be an extreme challenge.
"I'm super happy that I was able to defend my third place."

In the men's race, four Schwalbe athletes were at the front of the five-strong leading group in the bike race. Braden Currie even led for a long time well into the marathon and finished third in the end. Florian Angert put a big exclamation mark on his World Championship debut - he ended up fifth. With Daniel Baekkegard (7th) and Sam Laidlow (8th) two more Schwalbe athletes made it into the top 10 in the victory of Kristian Blummenfelt. Sebastian Kienle was 14th, Sam Long 15th.
Their tire choice: Schwalbe Pro One TT in tubeless setup. Anne Haug was on the road with the Pro One TT and Aerothane tube.
